Information on discrimination-sensitive language

The commitment to a just society and against discrimination is at the centre of the work of Aids and self-help organisations. Anyone who recognises discriminatory structures in our society quickly realises that these are also reflected in language. But what can discrimination-sensitive language look like? Be it in communication with people seeking advice, in prevention messages or in information material? How can different people and groups be named and thus made visible? The guide invites you to question language habits and thought patterns and encourages you to be creative with your own language.

You can find information in our guide ”Discrimination-sensitive language in Aids and self-help organisations” (guide only available in German) which can also be ordered in printed form (also only available in German). Further information in the film ‘Discrimination-sensitive language’.
